Cultural Facility Needs Assessment and Public Art Policy and Implementation Plan
Georges River Council
Cred Consulting and Overton Creative were engaged by Georges River Council in June 2019 to work with Council to deliver a Cultural Facilities Needs Assessment and a Public Art Policy and Implementation Plan.
The purpose of the Cultural Facilities Needs Assessment, which was delivered by Cred, was to identify more clearly the current and projected cultural infrastructure gaps and requirements within the Georges River LGA. The Cultural Facilities Needs Assessment provides:
A review of current cultural facilities and their capacity and recommendations for improvements/additional facilities
An evaluation of projected community needs, and
Identifies opportunities presented within other Council strategies to incorporate culture in the redevelopment or development of suburbs or precincts.
The Cultural Needs Assessment was developed through research and engagement with the Georges River community including background research, audit and benchmarking and community and stakeholder engagement (including an online survey, staff workshop an pop ups).
